Today was one big scramble for me. I found myself dragging the kids around to places like Kinkos and the dry cleaners in a pathetic attempt to get my shit together for this thing at the Wine Institute tomorrow.
It didn't help at all that my sister called in sick, again.
It really didn't help that my laptop is on a Fedex truck somewhere.
But enough with the complaining.
The day is about over and I actually managed to pull everything together for the most part. Except dinner. Everyone's eating pizza leftover from last night.
And one really nice thing happened today: the furnace man came to clean our furnace and ducts. Now we can turn on the heat! Hurray! I'm freezing!
Avery had her first *real* day of preschool today. I think it would have gone better if she wasn't still under the weather. The doctor said she could go, she's been on the antibiotics long enough so she's not contagious, apparently. Avery cried, Dean went and hung out with her for a bit and then left again to get Viola from Kindergarten. He went back to get Avery and she threw a fit because she didn't want to leave. It can be deceptive. BayA is little miss independent most of the time so it can be easy to forget what a mama's girl she is... speaking of which... she was supposed to be weaned when I went to Seattle last time. Didn't happen. I totally caved, I think mostly because I missed them both so much and felt so guilty for being gone, how could I not?
Gosh, what else? I start going to class again next week. I've exhausted my options at the community college near our house so I'll be taking classes at Cal State Hayward. I'm going to start shopping around for a law school here pretty soon. Even if I could start next year, which I can't, it doesn't look like my paperwork from the University of Washington is going to come through in time for me to apply. My employer will pay for me to get my MBA, so maybe I'll do that in the meantime. Anyone know any good MBA correspondence/distance/evening programs?
