Arrrrrr!
Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day!
I must extend my most sincerest gratitude to dear friend Liz, who upon hearing that it was Talk Like a Pirate Day, remarked sadly that this was information she could have used yesterday so as to make sure to talk to the IRS in Pirate-Speak all day today. Alas, the news came too late for Liz. Good news is that it will be Talk Like a Pirate Day aqgain before you know it!
To do my part to celebrate this most auspicious holiday, I put together a little Treasure Hunt for the girls. I cut out pictures and pasted them to red construction paper with clues like "You'll find your next clue here, but be careful, don't fall in!" (picture of a toilet). At the end they were rewarded with their very own little bags of Pirate Booty (okay, a bunch of candy in a ziplock but you would've thought it was Christmas).
It was a good day.
I'll leave you with some recent pictures, although none of today's booty-seeking activities.
Viola in one of her school outfits, complete with scotty dog beret.
Is that a big piece of yellow cheese?
And, of course, Dean's stink bug collection, courtesy of my garden.
I missed Talk Like a Pirate Day too. Probably for the best, because I don't think they would have appreciated the humor in my office.
I love Viola's beret. I need to get me one.

That is so cool that you did that Pirate theme! I didn't hear about it till the day was almost over, but that is so cool you used it as a teaching opportunity!
I'm a baaaad mom!
