I spent a good protion of today cleaning tack. Now, I clean lots of tack regularly. I've got two saddles I use regularly- my Niedersuss for dressage and my HDR A/P for dinking around on Cosette. I've been in the process of getting a new jumping saddle for Apollo. My HDR stadium jumping saddle is just too wide for him, which is too bad because that was one cushy saddle. Anyhow, that saddle is wrapped up in a saddle bag somewhere from the last show we went to. I had three saddles lying around that need to be expunged. I scrubbed them all down and gave them the treatment and now they are up on Ebay.
Wanna buy a saddle? *wink* *wink* I'll give ya a good deal, darlin'.
The I cleaned the Collegiate Jessica saddle I borrowed from Linda a while back. And then I cleaned my new Collegiate Senior Event saddle. Of course, there were also things like stirrup leathers and some martingales that needed cleaning. This has taken a good several hours. I set up an old laundry board in the kitch to do it so I could be near running water, warm, and not get glycerin soap all over anything that couldn't be readily mopped up. I love my saddle-cleaning-ironing-board. Without it, I would spend several hours stooped over a little folding saddle rack cleaning my tack.
Now I just have to find some boxes big enough. This is some exciting stuff, hey?
Okay, well now staying with the leather theme but moving on to something truly exciting... shoes!!! I donated like 5 old pairs. I didn't realize my shoe wardrobe was in such bad shape, but it was... floppy soles trying to make a break from the rest of the shoe, scuffed toes, outdated styles... it was a travesty!
(No, I do not have anything better to do than sit around and ogle my shoes. I mean, what else would I be doing?)
WARNING! Shoe porno ahead!
My Mary Gyms from Title 9 Sports. These are so comfy!
Ooo, about my favorite ppair of shoes ever- Born Barbe. They are really comfortable, too. They go with lots of stuff, too.
Another favorite pair from Born. Ahh. These sandals are like heaven for my feet. I adore them.
Oh, oh! Not done yet! You thought I was done?
Here is a sale pair of Softspots or is it Softwalks? Anyhow, love them, too. My feet don't photograph well, pardon my callused heels. They're blue, aren't they lovely? The shoes, not my callused heels.
I love shoe porn. You're feet look cute and little and it makes me jealous.

The act of cleaning tack sounds so soothing. I think the horsey smells and the leather smells would be appealing. Much more interesting than cleaning silver or ironing work shirts.
Love the shoe porn. I think I might have to do some shoe shopping today -- got the urge now to get some of my own comfy shoes. ;-)
