Yesterday was a day of power shopping. Now for some people, that might mean a 2 hour trip to Macy's. For me, it is a full day shopping extravaganza followed by mexican food and margaritas. I had a about six months of unwanted items to return- everything from my recalled Sudini boots to exchanging the Coach purse my mom bought me for my birthday back in July. It was tough, but I made it through. Afterward, I felt like I'd run a marathon.
Some of the things I came away with?
I could not resist this fabulous deep cowl neck sweater from Bebe. Now, normally I wouldn't be found shopping in Bebe because I am not the size of a 13-year-old asian girl. Nor do I like writing emblazoned across my ass in rhinestones. However, I saw a fabulous sweater dress in this month's Marie Claire and had to see if they had it. Sadly, they did not. However, I also found a turtleneck cable knit sweater dress that was quite nice.
My Coach exchange yielded this fabulous handbag. Now look, I carry a purse every single day. Since summer is about over, I won't have my straw carryall to fall back on when not carrying my black satchel. It's been ages since I invested in the brown aspects of my wardrobe. It is a good size, should stay in style for a while and if it is anything like my black, pebbled leather Coach bag- it will take all the abuse I can dish out and look that much better for it.
Finally, I found this lovely little skirt at Banana Republic. The material is nice and heavy and oh-so-yummy. This is one of the best pencil skirts I've found- nice wide waistband and skims the hip just-so. It's quite flattering if I do say so myself. So, yes, even I- Miss Picky-Pants herself, came away from the mall with a few excellent finds yesterday.
Fantasizing about carrying my Coach bag around will be more than enough to get me through the loads and loads of laundry I have to do today. That's me, putting the 'Labor' in Labor Day Weekend.
