What a MESS.
Who would have thought there was so much stuff to pick out when remodelling one's kitchen? I thought the appliances were agonizing but now I have to pick out sinks and faucets.
Faucets!
Who knew that a faucet could be so expensive? And the sinks. Undermount? Clearly not self-rimming. But I could also go with the fireclay, drop-in with an apron. Stainless steel? What gauge? Shiny? Brushed?Drain to the center? Drain to the rear? Divided? Two sinks? Three sinks? Five sinks?
Please, someone, before I hurt myself.
We have issues with our current stainless-cheapy-self-rimming-piece-o-shit sink- namely the faucet isn't high enough and the sink isn't deep enough. Do I go with the Kohler? The Franke or the Elkay? And, of course, the fate of the kitchen hinges upon getting the right faucet apparently.
No wonder I have an ulcer.
Any opinions? I have sink cabinets designed to handle a drop in or undermount sink. In the clean-up 'zone', I want the sink to be stainless and built into the stainless counter we're getting. So all I have to pick out there is the faucet. Except for the sink and the alternate countertop when stainless with a custom one-piece sink comes back more than I can afford. The sink in the cooking U, I was originally thinking at least 33" but if I have a gigantor sink for clean-up elsewhere, I could actually go with a modest 20-24" square-ish sink. Or should I get one of those weird contour sinks? That would really blow up the cost of my quartz counters, wouldn't it? I really wan one of those cool "sink stations". They are big and round and have all sorts of working surfaces built in. Oh, and they cost about $5K.
Right now I'm leaning toward a squarish fireclay sink. Must have instant boiling water, as well. And should I go with the pro pre-rinse faucet (sorta like they have to rinse dishes at restaurants?).
Did I mention I have my appliances? Well, they are on their way. I got a double convection oven from a discount place up in Sacramento. The dishwasher is a "scratch and dent" but none of the scratches are on parts that will be exposed anyway. A few scratches where I'll never see them to save about $600? Sign me up! My fridge was a showroom floor model, never installed or used and not a mark on it but as such $4.5 K off the usual $7.5 ticket price. Am I a bargain shopper or what? I'm getting about $13K worth of appliances for $6K. Of course, it's only just beginning...
I did the quick quote for quartz countertops... wahhh. WAY too expensive. I was hoping to spend a couple thousand- not eight or ten. But, all these cabinets means lots of linear footage of counter space!
I'll be doing our backsplash in glass tile but all one color, delft blue I think, in offset 4x8" bricks.
And here is the quartz I want- stellar night. Its all nice and sparkly without being over-the-top.
What do you think?

I want one of those restaurant rinsers! I actually wouldn't mind the whole three-sink method setup. With a drain in the floor. I guess that wouldn't look very nice, but man, would it be functional.
