So, took an unintentional break from the blog. I just stopped writing and then didn't feel like it again until today. Weird how that is. For me, writing is a little like a carton of milk, you can pour it out until it is empty and then there isn't any more until you go to the store and get another half gallon. Well, the drive back from the store took longer than I expected. Or something.
So, what have I been up to in my blabsence? We went to Disneyland with Andrea, Thomas, Jacob and Noelle. Of course, since we are not allowed to travel without someone(or say, the entire family) getting ill, Dean came down with a raging fever and was feeling like crap the day before we were set to leave. Vi had an asthma attack outside of the Jazz Cafe in Downtown Disney and we had to call the paramedics. Ave threw up in the middle of the character breakfast. And I was completely a-okay the whole time! How does that happen? That never happens! I'll do a whole post on our Disney trip since I have lots of great pics to share. Key cuteness was that Jacob and Ave had a little May-December romance (Ave was 4 and Jacob, 8).
I moved Apollo out to the ranch where Foxy lives. Liz and I integrated him into the pasture over the past week or so and now he's out grazing on the new spring grass. He's going to be all fat and sassy. Two Sundays ago, took him on a trail ride. He bucked a wee bit, acted like he was going to bolt a few times and pranced and hopped a bunch but fr the most part- no problem except me having to concentrate the entire time to keep him under control. Eventually, though, I'm hoping he'll calm down out on the trail and I can just ride and relax. It did feel great to get him out there because he is just alot of horse and gorgeous, too. I always feel awesome after I ride him- always considering where I came from with him. It's been my big life lesson that if you really stick with something, see it through, be patient, love- even when it feels near impossible, great things can come out of it.
Margaret, Maggie and Milli came down from Seattle to visit us over the girls Midwinter break. Maggie and I spent lots of time out with the horses. She took some riding lessons with our cowboy friend, Shawn. Margaret and I went to the spa a couple times and got our feet massaged which was fabulous.
Ave had her birthday. She tok some friends from school to Color Me Mine the Saturday after her actual birthday. We spent her real birthday doing fun stuff- Chuck-E-Cheese in the afternoon, pizza at Pizza Patio per her request for dinner and ice cream cake at home.
Ave wrote the following in cursive at school recently:
Leevse
Ther are menee kinds ev leevse leevse are green bekos thay have klorefil leeves exhayol oksejin to us wee give planse karbodiokside plans are flawrs somtims plans blom into flawrs wee shod plante mor trees fore fresh ere plans are god bekos tha giv us fresh aere they are gode
Good luck- but how awesome is that? Love the phonetic spelling of carbon dioxide.
Dean and I have been trying to go to the gym together pretty regularly which is nice. I feel alot better when I am exercising to the degree that I do when we go together. Keeps me from being lazy- that little competitive spirit of mine. After we finish working out, we go swim with the kids which is fantastic. I love getting into the jacuzzi when I am all sore and tired from a good workout.
I have an appointment to see a counselor tomorrow but I'm considering cancelling. I sort of have to wonder if I wouldn't just be happier buying $175 worth of books and taking a couple days off work to chill out, read and relax.
Some progress made on the kitchen: the third sink is plumbed and the garbage disposal is hooked up. Our instant hot water tap is also working which is fabulous. Just need to get a few trim issues resolved, shelves installed for my cookbooks and the undercabinet lighting hooked up. We made a deal with our electrician- traded a bunch of cabinets we had in storage for installing recessed lighting and some new light fixtures through the house and lighting in the closets. Hopefully we can get the doorbell reconnected as part of the deal- heh.
I'll leave you with this favorite picture of mine from Ave's party:
