I've been busy lately. Well, for one thing, I look a little like I was attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes or something. On Saturday, we had soccer games for much of the day, as usual. By Sunday morning at 4am, my face had giant red welts starting down around my shoulders and collar bone up into my hair. I had been itchy before bed and had taken some benadryl but when I woke at 4am I was full on wheezing. I took like three benadryl at that point, not wanting to have to go to the hospital. Of course it conked me out and when I woke at 9am, while my neck was still itchy and my face was puffy, I could breathe again. Took a couple more benadryl and went back to sleep for a couple of hours. Man, the misery.
Of course, I did scratch myself silly which didn't help things. Pathetic.
They must've just mown the grrass out at the soccer fields or something.
Sunday was a hot, lazy day. We walked down to the elementary school and lounged out on the grass field. We took the guinea pigs and let them roam free in the clover. Pepper was at first terrified and kept making a beeline for the fence and cover while Rocket, old hat that he is, immediately got busy chowing down. Eventually Pepper relaxed and started to enjoy the wonder of the meadow.
Vi brought her bug catcher and we caught ladybugs to take home to our roses. Dean and I played with the soccer ball. We rounded out the day with swinging on the swings. Dean tried to give me an 'underdog' and instead knocked our heads together which about gave me a concussion.
Saturday, we had a couple of friends over for dinner and made 'breakfast for dinner'- 18 eggs, a lb of bacon, two packages of sausages, waffles, crepes and a fruit platter consistinng of pineapple, bananas, strawberries and oranges(I think). Crepes are really, really good with homemade strawberry jam and whipped cream.
Yesterday, Vi and I hung around her school until it was time to pick Ave up... hunting for ladybugs in the grass and otherwise enjoying the day. After we got Ave we went back to the school to hang out until soccer practice. Soccer practice went well- talked to the girls about how completely awesome they were on Saturday. They all clapped for each other and it was great to see that they are starting to feel some real comraderie as a team.
I have been reading like crazy, especially now that I am a top reviewer on Amazon and am getting books to review through the Vine Program. Although, I am starting to feel like I say "Great Book! Definately recommend!" too often. It's hard to write good reviews without giving away spoilers. Hmph.
On Sunday we painted pots and so we have to plant some seeds this week. Last night I was helping Ave spraypaint her pot purple and blue and silver and like an idiot left the spray paint cans out in front of the house. Luckily, no harm came to any of the cars, house or sidewalk- a testament that we do actually live in a decent neighborhood.
Looks like a hot one today- supposed to be into the nineties before cooling off later, whew!
