The weekend draws to a close... finally. I drove Ave back to camp last night where she was greeted quite excitedly by her fellow choristers. The championships went well. It was the first time Ave has competed in a meet against multiple teams. She rocked her fly and took 9th out of 54 girls in her age division. She set a personal record and knocked 4+ seconds off her seed time! She swam freestyle in the 'A' medley relay, the freestyle relay and then in the individuals. It was a great day, beautiful weather and the drive back was far more pleasant than the evening before.
Today, Dean took down the bunk beds in Avery's room in preparation for the full-sized bed I'm currently refinishing in 'aqua'. I spent a good amount of time sanding and spraying and sanding and spraying. Both Vi's and Ave's beds are almost done and then we just need to do a bookshelf for each of their rooms. Vi's getting a full overhaul- going to pull up the carpet and refinish the wood floor underneath, retexture and paint the walls, change out the baseboard... then she'll get a new desk, a full length mirror and probably a dresser. I suppose new curtains would also be in order.
Tonight we went to the award ceremony for swim team. The food was great and they did a nice job of recognizing all the swimmers. It got awfully chilly and windy as the evening progressed and I ended up leaving a bit early.
Here I am, once again, at 3am.. wide awake as ever. Argh! It's driving me nuts. I want to sleep!! At least tonight my sleeplessness has been productive. I've been painting and also managed to make two cheesecakes pies- one blueberry, one cherry.
Time to go eat a slice. Night, night.
