Ave's been sick and I've barely left her side for like 4 days now.
We're both going stir crazy. Could use some good movie recs.
And. of course, I am sick now, too.
Our thermostat broke so I have to keep getting up and turn the heat on and off manually- which is fine but frustrating. Got a new thermostat and plan to install it myself this weekend if I can. Otherwise, hello elctrician. Or whoever does that kinda stuff. I looked at it and I think if I can fix it I should get honorary membership to the bomb squad. "Red wire?" "Yellow wire?" "No! the green wire!"
At least the wires were colored. When we moved into this house ages ago, alot of the outlets had their polarity reversed and I had to rewire them and very carefully with lots of testing because all the wires were identical looking. Coool, huh?
We've been reorganizing the house and cleaning the garage and soon to tackle the attic. I was going to have a garage sale but now I'm thinking that is just too much work. Ugh.
I hate the attic, too, I always get bogged down in the past up there. I don't know why I save everything from all the notes and letters written and passed in high school to jewelry and glow-in-the-dark shoelaces I had as a kid, buttons that say dumb stuff and old picture albums full of movie ticket stubs to things like "Dead Poet's Society" and "Pump Up the Volume". Of course, Catcher in the Rye is still on my bookshelf.
The past can be difficult to let go of- sometimes even the distant past that has no business creeping into the now, but that is how it goes for me.
It's nice changing some things in the house for the better. I love my home. There is happiness here.
