Language has always fascinated me. I loved listening to my siblings who were a generation after mine growing up and the words they and others used.
Some people call it slang. I think it is about owning who we are, generationally speaking or otherwise. It is how we recognize others like ourselves.
In so many ways our language define us: are we educated? are we native speakers of the dominant language? Did we grow up in one part of the country or another? Urban or rural?
Right now, I've been hearing alot of things described as 'epic'- "we talked, it was epic, and now it is over". I like it. I like the idea of people adopting the use of epic as a way to describe things.
Life should be epic, always.
Life is epic.
