Viola has a 104 degree fever this morning- even after the ibuprofen. We have a doctor appointment at 10:45. Avery went in and got her 2 year check-up this morning. She had two shots- Heb B and Hep A. She didn't cry, didn't even leak a little. Then afterward she said to the nurse, "Thank you for poking me with the big pins". Heh heh. That's my girl.
Anyhow, no school for sickies so looks like we'll be camped out here in the living room with the nebulizer and the codeine cough syrup.
So, I went to Safeway at 11:30 last night. I was in my bright blue pajama bottoms with purple stars all over them that I've had for years and are three sizes too big for me. I had on a black tank top and a ratty grey sweatshirt. I distinctly recall that one side of my bangs was standing up at a funny angle from where I took a little nap earlier. Oh yeah, and to complete the look I was wearing my maroon and beige Steve Maddens (hey, they were slip-on). I was buying gatorade, jello and children's tylenol and ibuprofen. As I was stumbling down the analgesics aisle, I bumped into some guy who proceeded to ask me for my phone number. I laughed and said, "Uh, thanks but no". Later, I thought about it and maybe I should have pointed out to the guy I was laughing because of the ridiculousness of me in my pajama bottoms and sticky-outty hair buying tylenol for my daughter who was moments earlier snotting on the front of my ratty grey sweatshirt- getting asked for my phone number in the Safeway.
It was an uneventful weekend of medication management. We watched the Oscars. Eh, whatever. I didn't see hardly any of the movies, being that I have two small children and all. I made oatmeal cookies on Saturday and they are all gone now. We watched the newest version of Peter Pan, really enjoyed that. Hmm. Not much else.
Were off to the dr. now.
Thanks for dropping by my Blog! Your kids are sooooo cute - I hope they (you) feel better soon. One day last week I made that late night trip to the pharmasave in my blue pjs with clouds, moons, and dried oatmeal all over them with my hair standing straight up in some deformed blonde clump. (Sigh) I never imagined those moments way back in the pregnant years!

It completely amazes me that so many of you feel that the Duggers are "a normal FamilY' It goes far beyond Christain Values. Many of us are Christain, and theology is as any other area of study is up for debate and interpertation. The definition of an evangelical christian is not to have 16 kids!
Many parents especially two parent working families hope and pray that that they are providing their children with an emotionally secure envirnment. And these people can provide that for 16 children? There is a point at which this beomes "unrealistic" not mention "selfish".
Good ol' Jim Bob and Michelle rely on their older children to practically raise the younger ones. Growing into adulthood and all the reasponsibilites that come with it, is an adjustment in and of itself "For God Sake Let them be KIDs"

It's a good thing that you've managed to lower your kid's temperature when she was sick. It's okay to handle it on your own if you can, but if you follow all the home remedies you know, and it still doesn’t work, then rushing your child to the clinic may be the best option. So, what did the doctor say when you brought her the next morning?

Chalice is right! But there's one more thing I would love to add to your home remedies. Why don't you try to mix up basil, black pepper, and honey to the tea. Basically, this can help your child feel rejuvenated because of the aroma of the basil and the sweetness of honey.
