• "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" --Mary Oliver

  • Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the little voice inside you the yells, "can't!" But you don't listen; you just push harder and then you hear the voice whisper "can" and you realize the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Oh my gosh, Amy. I'm just getting caught up with all this. I am sorry to hear about what's been happening at school. It definitely sounds like you made the right decision to pull her out, at least until you can figure out some other options.

I can't believe you didn't get a call back from the school. How terrible.

I absolutely think you have made the right decision. I can't believe how she was being treated! There are supposed to be anti-bullying laws out there, but it seems so often parents of kids who are bullied don't have any recourse for what happens to their kids. If I am ever in the same situation with Evan I will do what you have done and yank him out of school so fast they won't have a chance to notice he's gone.

Thanks for the support, guys. I'm going to need it. I am mourning the loss of her 'normal' first grade year right now. I jst so wanted her to have a nice school experience where she looked forward to going and seeing her friends everyday. Instead I feel like its a little Lord of the Flies thing going on.
